#Togetherwemake – DAYS 23 to 26

Nana joined the #togetherwemake 30 Day Craft Project challenge starting April 1. LoveCrafts has invited us to join in the #TogetherWeMake 30 Day Craft Project – a free, global craft project open to everyone! Each day brings a different theme for inspiration along with FREE patterns and project inspiration to keep you motivated.

Today I am sharing all Nana’s projects for Days 23-26!! If you want to see all my creations, you can find the links in Part one HERE.

DAY 23 – FAMILY TIES

Today is all about family, whatever that might mean to you. Family is often at the centre of our making life – we make gifts for loved ones.  Spend some time today thinking about them and knit, crochet or stitch in their honor!

Seems everything I create is for the family. But one thing that each and every family member has is a quilt made by Nana! Babies get crib quilts and then graduate to rag quilts. Soft and cuddly Rag quilts – aka TV quilts- are the favorite among my family.

My two daughters and one son and the grandbabies all have quilts. When you become a member of the family, you receive a quilt from Nana! The son-in-laws and step grandsons joined the family and they too received a special quilt from Nana! Each is designed with their special interests in mind. We have hearts, flowers and butterflies for the girls and sports, zombies, tigers, Disney cars, superheroes and star wars for the boys.

I recently had 4 new grandbabies that have yet to receive their special TV quilt. The oldest of these 4 turns four years old this year and it is time to design him his quilt. HMMM – I am thinking Buzz Lightyear – his favorite!

I also have a crocheted Baby Yoda on my hook for the oldest grandson’s birthday in June!

DAY 24 – PUPPY LOVE

Trusty companions, loyal sidekicks and excellent craft chair warmers; dogs are (wo)man’s best friend! Whether you’ve got a furry friend of your own or you just want to bring a bit of puppy love into your makes, today is all about celebrating pups!

My fur-baby is now 15 years old and is slowly aging. A swimmer, surfer and sand castle builder, she no longer enjoys the beach but has become the grandma in her rocking chair. And Grandmas love scarves!! I have never made my furbaby anything, so today Nana made her this lovely grandma scarf! GET PATTERN HERE.

DAY 25 – HOME SWEET HOME

Today the #togetherrwemake challenge is to create a little something for your home. If you are like me, we are always creating things for our home.

The one thing that you can make for your home in one day?? Pillows!!
I absolutely LOVE pillows. A simple pillow can change the look of your decor in seconds. I love pillows so much I have dedicated a whole Pinterest Board especially for them. Look at what I made today!

If you make an envelope pillow or zippered cover, it is easy and quick to change your pillow cover whenever you want to change the look of your room!

Nana is preparing a post on how to make an envelope pillow. Watch for it!! And LoveCrafts has over 1000 patterns for pillows that you can crochet!

DAY 26 – SWEET TREATS

Gorgeous cupcakes, crunchy cookies, delicious donuts, fluffy slices of sponge… There’s nothing better than tucking into a sweet treat while you get stuck into a new project! Cut yourself a slice of your favourite cake and dedicate today the sweetest things in life!

Ever tried mug cakes?? A favorite with the grandkids, these easy to make treats can be made with the addition of any combination of chocolate chips, sprinkles, nuts, whipping cream, pudding, and more!

Caution: These are hot and you can use your quilted bowl covers to hold them!!

The recipe for these cakes is so simple! Simply combine one angel food cake mix with your favorite flavor of cake mix in a “ziploc” bag. I love chocolate! but you can use white, yellow, carrot, etc. This stores very well. When you are ready for your mug cake, simply the follow the 3 – 2- 1 recipe!

Combine 3 tablespoons of mix, with 2 tablespoons of water and microwave for 1 minute. DONE! You will end up with about 1/2 cup of cake. Add extras like fruit, whipped cream, ice cream, sprinkles, and more!!
NOTE: The picture was make using a double recipe so you could see the cake but a whole cup is a lot of cake!! I recommend starting with 1/2 a mug!

I would love to see some of your projects!! Don’t forget to join the Facebook group and be inspired by other makers on The 30 Day Craft Project. Or follow along on Instagram and tag your photos #TogetherWeMake #LoveCrafts and #whatsnanamaking.

Watch for the final Days 27-30 on Friday!!
