With the festive season fast approaching, it’s time to stock up on gift ideas for your loved ones! Nana is here to help.
One of my favorite places to shop is Etsy. If you have never checked out Etsy, you really should. Etsy offers one of a kind, hard to find items from independent sellers including unique handmade gifts as well as some fabulous items for crafters of all kinds.
What’s Nana Making utilizes affiliate programs for monetization, which means when you click on links to various products that I recommend and make a purchase, this can result in a commission that is credited to this site. Please be sure to read our Privacy Policy
I just finished reorganizing my Etsy Favorites and would love to share them with you! I recently found a fabulous feature on Etsy called “Lists”. If you love using Pinterest, you will like Etsy lists. Lists allows you to save your Etsy favorites into separate categories (as many as you want). So you can add a list for patterns, supplies, gifts……you could even separate those lists into gifts for mom, patterns for kids, and more!!!
If you have never checked out Etsy, you really should. Etsy offers one of a kind, hard to find items from independent sellers. You can find out more in my previous posts about what crocheters will find on Etsy and why quilters will love Etsy. I have also included a lot of Etsy products in my gift lists!!
Did you even know there was such a thing as World Sleep Day!! I love it! A celebration of sleep. Who wouldn’t want to cozy up and sleep for a full day.
Aw – but what are you sleeping in?? Whether you like to wrap up in a cozy quilt or warm afghan, snuggle with a soft pillow or lounge in those comfy PJ’s, Nana has a DIY that can make your sleep heavenly!
I know, I know it will soon be fall, so why is Nana making summer dresses. First, it is spring in the southern hemisphere. Second, Nana goes away for the winter (Covid permitting) and Third and most important – ALL the summer fabrics were on sale!!

For the next few weeks, Nana will be making Covid masks. I know many of you have been making these for months but I made only a few for myself. Just yesterday, our city council passed a bylaw that will mandate masks or face coverings in all indoor public spaces, as well as on public transit, effective August 1. And it applies to everyone over the age of two.
Because Nana is a maker, family and friends immediately started calling requesting masks. So I am on a quest to find a perfect mask for everyone aged 2 to 90.
Have you ever shopped on Etsy? Nana does – a lot! I was recently asked what I buy on Etsy and decided to write this post on Why Quilters Love Etsy.
Quilters Love Etsy for a number of reasons from the uniqueness of products available to the almost free patterns available at your fingertips. Come find out why Nana loves Etsy.

Nana joined the #togetherwemake 30 Day Craft Project challenge starting April 1. LoveCrafts has invited us to join in the #TogetherWeMake 30 Day Craft Project – a free, global craft project open to everyone! Each day brings a different theme for inspiration along with FREE patterns and project inspiration to keep you motivated.
Today I am sharing all Nana’s projects for Days 27-30!! If you want to see all my creations, you can find the links in Part one HERE
Today I was prompted by the #togetherwemake project to “Go My Own Way”. To adapt a pattern, making it my own, customizing, or going crazy for colour! And when I looked around my house, when I looked back on past creations and when I read my previous blog posts; I knew that today was all about ME! Who is Nana??
So what is my passion? To create. And I do this through various mediums – quilting and sewing, crocheting, painting and crafts. Come see who Nana is and what Nana is making?
