DAY ELEVEN – TUTTI FRUITTI

These  super fruity coaster patterns designed by Repeat Crafter Me are so much fun. Her blog post includes 5 Crochet Fruit Coasters: Strawberry, Apple, Orange/Lemon, Pear, Watermelon.

With limited time and a dwindling selection of yarns, Nana tried only two of the patterns. I am thinking these would make great appliques for tea towels. What do you think??

I sure wish I had a few more bright colors in my stash for this project. I will definitely make more of these in the future because they are super easy and cute.

Day Twelve – Fictional Characters

It’s great fun to make garments and accessories that connect us to our favorite fictional characters! Everyone who knows Nana, knows that her favorite is Mickey Mouse.

And Nana has dedicated one bedroom and bathroom to Mickey and friends. It is where the grandkids come to visit and where Nana’s collections and creations reside. Nana designed these two quilts which live on the bunk beds!

Day Thirteen – Love is love

Today is about sharing and celebrating love. And for me, I wanted to share my love with COVID-19 patients.

Nurse Laura Kirby-Deacon wants people to send small handcrafted hearts to give to patients who contracted Covid-19 and their families. So I spent my day crocheting these little hearts in support. If you want to join in, you can find out more HERE and a free crochet pattern HERE

Day Fourteen – Clever cakes

As a quilter, the minute someone says cakes, my mind turns to fabric layer cakes and as a crocheter, I immediately think of yarn cakes!! But as a baker, I think of something yummy! Because I had no layer cake projects and no yarn cakes leftover, the baker won!

My MOM has been gone over 17 years now, but I still use two of her famous recipes. Her rum cake was well-known at many potlucks and was always loved by all. And a poppy seed cake was a familiar item made lovingly for the family to enjoy! For today, I have revealed her secret recipes to all!
