Everyone is Irish on March 17
TOP OF THE MORNING TO YA!
As February fades and March begins we start to turn our thoughts away from winter and towards the spring. And March brings us many celebrations including Saint Patrick’s Day. March 17 belongs to St. Patrick and has become filled with leprechauns, shamrocks, pots of gold, and the day of the green—green everywhere.
To celebrate, I found a few little facts as well as 10 fabulous Saint Patrick’s Day crafts to make!!
Who was Saint Patrick?
So many legends surround the life of Saint Patrick that the truth is not easily found. We do know that he was not Irish!! He was born in Britain. As a teen he was kidnapped by pirates, taken to Ireland and forced to work as a shepard and a farm laborer . It is during this time that he became religious. He travelled throughout Ireland, preaching the Gospel. He converted thousands and began building churches all over the country. And after he died, he became Ireland’s patron saint responsible for the conversion of the island to Christianity
The Shamrock: This was the tool reputedly used by Saint Patrick to explain the Holy Trinity to convert the Irish pagans. The shamrock was traditionally worn in Ireland as a symbol of the cross
Today the shamrock decorates many homes on Saint Patrick’s Day!!

Why do we pinch someone who is not wearing green?
You may be pinched on Saint Patrick’s Day if you are not wearing green. The reason is: LEPRECHAUNS!
Leprechauns are mischievous and sneaky. The color green is supposed to make one invisible to these fairy creatures. If someone you know pinches you, it is to remind you that a Leprechaun is near.
There is still time to crochet your own Leprechaun with the free pattern from Repeat Crafter Me.
