When heading to the fabric store to find fabrics for my Covid masks, I found a fantastic sale. Included was this rayon blend that would look fabulous sewn up into a summer dress. I call them winter dresses, because Nana is a snowbird that flys south for the winter to the warmer weather of Costa Rica.

This gorgeous floral pattern will look great in the tropics. And the rayon challis fabric I chose will be perfect for staying cool.
For the pattern, I used one that I had found and posted on Nana’s Favorites site – the Easy Sparkle Dress. This dress was designed to be a Christmas party dress (so I am not crazy for making it now) and if you add a jacket or sweater and a scarf, you have the perfect dress for cooler temps.
Was it easy!! This is probably the easiest dress I have ever made. And it looks great! Best of all – the pattern is FREE!
You can bet, I will be making many more! Think I will make it plain colors to match the fringed top I am making.
