I am a Nana. A Nana that loves to sew for her grandbabies. I have two daughters with daughters. Cousins. A few weeks ago, one daughter asked me to sew baby (4 months) some summer tops. The other a romper – Size 12 months with a ruffle sleeve.
This is the story of how Nana, adapted a commercial pattern by adding a ruffle sleeve.
This adorable baby infinity scarf is easy to make and makes a great baby gift. The infinity scarf makes a great drool bib for teething little ones. And they look so fashionable!
The baby infinity scarf was designed with safety in mind as it closes in the back with a snap or velcro so that the loops cannot tighten around your baby’s neck. It also makes it easy to take on and off!
If you want to learn to crochet, join us in making this cozy Afghan. Each month, you will learn how to crochet three different blocks. After 10 months (in November), you will have 30 different blocks in total that we will learn to stitch together in December to make a wonderful lap-sized afghan perfect for Christmas gift giving, although, you may be tempted to keep this for yourself to use for snuggling on the couch.
Our crochet along is finished, but you can start anytime and work at your own pace.
If you would like the entire series in one convenient PDF, you may purchase the e-book in my Etsy shop!
This is the third part of the twelve-month series.
It is highly recommended that you read the general instructions before beginning Part 3. You can view Part One here and Part Two here which includes Blocks 1-3.
Part of the “Beginners Can Make It Too!” Series – Child Sun Hat
Did I need a child sun hat in February. You bet!! The grandkids are coming to visit us in Costa Rica so I made them each a wonderful child sun hat to protect them from the hot sun.
As I mentioned in the general instructions of the learn to crochet series (Part 2A), this month, we are going to start with 3 squares; all using two basic stitches-the chain stitch (CH) and the single crochet (SC).
Woohoo! You have purchased your yarn and hooks and are ready to begin to learn to crochet.
The Learn to Crochet is under way and I am so excited! We have a number of new hookers out there ready to join in.
As I said in Learn to Crochet – Part 1, we are going to start on three blocks month, but when I started to write this month’s blog, there were so many “general” instructions the blog was way too long. So, we have two blogs today. Part 2A – which will be the general instructions and Part 2B where we will begin to Learn to Crochet!
Another baby quilt using the Free Simple Squares Pattern
Seems like a lot of babies have come into my life lately, which means lots of baby quilts to be made. This baby quilt was made using the Simple Squares pattern. I love the pattern, because it is quick and easy and the simplicity of the quilting keeps it vintage looking.
